Somato Respiratory Integration (SRI) in Huntersville NC

woman practicing breathworkIf you feel stuck in old patterns, overwhelmed by stress, or like your body rarely relaxes, Somato Respiratory Integration (SRI) may be a gentle way forward. Many people come to Dr. Ginni Gross looking for more than pain relief; they want calmer emotions, better sleep, and a nervous system that is not always in fight-or-flight. SRI offers guided breathing practices that help you connect with your body in a new way and support meaningful change in how you feel day to day.

Many patients begin with our $149 New Patient Special for a health consult, nervous system assessment, and gentle adjustment, then add SRI as part of their ongoing plan.

What Is Somato Respiratory Integration?

Somato Respiratory Integration is a series of specific breathwork exercises created by the same doctor who developed NetworkSpinal Care, a low-force chiropractic approach using light contact points to help your nervous system relax and reorganize. SRI is built around the “12 Stages of Healing,” which describe different ways people move through stress and life challenges. During SRI, you use focused breathing, body awareness, and gentle touch on areas like your heart or abdomen to help shift your system toward parasympathetic “rest-and-digest” activity. At Touch Light Chiropractic, SRI is often paired with NetworkSpinal Care to deepen changes in your spine and nervous system.

How SRI Supports Your Body and Mind

As your breath and awareness become more organized, many people notice more ease, clarity, and resilience. SRI can be helpful if you notice:

  • Persistent anxiety or a sense of being “on edge”
  • Difficulty relaxing or sleeping
  • Feeling numb, shut down, or easily overwhelmed

What to Expect During an SRI Session

An SRI session with Dr. Gross is quiet, guided, and gentle. You may sit or lie down, fully clothed, while placing your hands on specific areas such as your chest, ribs, or abdomen as she coaches you through breathing patterns for that day.

Afterward, you will briefly discuss what you noticed so you can build on the changes you experienced.
